    Great little lantern
My wife bought these for me several years ago and brought them home to me. She knows I love to backpack and car camp several times a year and she’s likes to surprise me with novelty items at times. I appreciate her willingness to please me with items she thinks I will use or enjoy and her gifts are hit or miss at times. I brought these along on my annual family/friend week long camping trip to the mountains of north Georgia one year not expecting much and was quite surprised. We usually have between 15-30 campers throughout the week encompassing a relatively large area with tents, tarps, and a outdoor kitchen set up under a 20×30 foot tarp. We have used propane and gas lanterns in the past (30 plus years) and they work fine but are noisy and temperamental. I se these up under the kitchen tarp and along the paths between the campsites and they worked perfectly. I particularly like the fact they have a red setting and low and high lighting setting which allows for lighting at night but not overpowering. Everyone was quite impressed with these little jewels. I have ordered more as they are perfect for emergencies during power outages and for camping. The battery life is outstanding. I highly recommend these little lanterns because they are inexpensive and work wonderfully.

    Excellent lanterns
I would highly recommend these lanterns. They are light weight, bright, have adjustable light settings, a red light, and red flashing light for emergencies. They are a really nice quality and have nice colors.

    I love these.
Good product. Good variety of light levels. Smooth dispersion of light; not rows of dots. Brightness controlled by switch AND the sliding sleeve/shade. I have several of THIS unit. It is better than the cheapo knock-offs.

    Reliable, affordable camping lights
These lamps are reliable, sturdy, and energy efficient. They provide you with the option of bright white lite, battery saving muted white light and red light for night time use. I have been using them for the past several years without issues. Highly recommend.

This is the second set of lights that I bought. We were without power here in Ottawa for 8 days recently, because of a storm. I had bought a set of 3 a few years ago and they were fantastic. The power is now restored, but I wanted another set of 3 so that, in a future outage, I would have lights in various rooms, without having to constantly move lights around from place to place. They take 3 AA Batteries and are very bright and long lasting. Highly Recommend this brand.

My husband loves these lanterns! The 360-degree light is bright but not blinding because the lanterns are opaque instead of see-through like most others. That makes a huge difference when you don’t want your eyes screaming at you in the dark. The pop-up design is super simple to open and close, and you can hang them or carry them easily. The red light mode was perfect for the kids at night – soft enough to feel safe without being too bright. If you don’t want to get left in the dark, these lanterns are a solid pick. Plus, my husband’s pretty picky, so that says a lot!

I have purchased these lanterns 2 years ago when a tornado caused power outage happened to us. Then another freezing rain caused power outage prompted me to buy more. Why? Because they work well, especially when you hang them high.I like the fact that they use regular AA batteries, which can be found at any store. I used to have ones with tiny solar panels on top, rechargeable internal lithium batteries and USB charging input. They fail after a year or 2 and went straight to the garbage bin.Keep it simple or be willing to pay more for a multi-features lantern (radio, solar panel, USB …)These lanterns are great for camping and during power outage.

Although there are many lanterns available on Amazon that are similar in appearance to this Cascade Mountain Tech pop-up lantern, this is the lantern you should buy. Its superior quality justifies the higher price. It puts out 180 lumens, which will light up a room during a power outage. It has a polymer diffuser surrounding the surface mounted diodes (SMD), so it produces a soft light that allow you to look at the lantern without being blinded. It’s small size, 5″ collapsed and 7″ extended, means that its inconspicuous when not needed. Although the plastic housing seems fairly durable, I don’t think it’s strong enough to withstand being dropped. If you’re looking for a compact lantern for your kids, then the Coast EAL13, which is virtually indestructible, would probably be a better option.
