Light up the entire area. The innovative design of the EAL40R provides multiple ways to control its high-powered light. At its max brightness of 2500 lumens, this lantern truly takes over the dark. Flip the Color Shift ™ zone selector switch to toggle between these options. Multiple light modes—warm low, warm medium, warm cool low, cool medium, cool high, red, red flashing—provide an option for every scenario. The power button emits a low-level glow, ensuring you can find your lantern even in complete darkness, with virtually no impact on battery life. Carry the EAL40R by the foldable handle just as you would a traditional lantern or hang it by the integrated carabiner located on the bottom of the lantern. The COAST Rechargeable Plus system runs the lantern on the included ZX740 ZITHION-X™ rechargeable battery, which recharges via a USB-C in/out port. Bright, reliable, well-built, battery life seems good.
Wanted to add some light to my work area, but something I could move around and use during power outages. I’ve been very impressed with this lantern. I use it plugged in 95% of the time, and while it may affect long-term battery life, the battery doesn’t seem to deplete, so it seems like perhaps it is able to use USB pass-through power. The functionality while plugged in has been 100% reliable, and I like being able to switch between the softer, warmer mode, and the brighter but more harsh mode. The quality of light is very nice and doesn’t cause any off tones when using during video calls.Build quality seems very solid. It’s not a luxury item by any stretch, but it feels like it would survive a drop and none of the components feel like corners were cut.I haven’t really pushed the battery much, but on the brightest of the warm settings (which are not the brightest settings) I want to say I’ve made it through an entire 8-hour workday with it unplugged, but wasn’t paying close attention.Speaking of brightness, the warmer (and more pleasing IMO) settings get about as bright as a 60W equivalent bulb, and the cooler setting resembles a 150W equivalent bulb, meaning it can throw some serious light, easily providing adequate light for my entire 400 square foot studio with no other lights on.I haven’t used cheaper models, so I can’t comment on value too much, but I’ve been totally satisfied with my purchase.

Great light, buy it and rest easy.
Fantastic product. While it does use a rechargeable battery pack, it is basically a block of AA batters and it can be removed. So you can just use regular AA batteries in an emergency where you can’t charge it.It’s bright if you need it, dim if you don’t, and lasts a long, LONG time.It’s a great addition to an emergency or camping kit.

Power button always on
I’m not sure if it’ll keep a charge due to the power button always being on which probably take .01% energy a day but still..Other than that this lantern is really nice and bright and perfect for camping or if there’s a power outage.I got it on sale for $31 but would not mind paying full price.Pictures show full brightness on the white and yellow and with no light for comparisonI don’t have lights in my patio so it’s a very nice “mood light” also lights up my whole apartment living room which still goes to my bed and bath room.

EAL40R vs. EAL30R
I bought this(EAL40R) and the EAL30R and ultimately went with the EAL30R. Here’s why:- 2400 lumens is only when you remove the diffuser, with the diffuser it’s 1400 lumens on white tone, EAL30R is 1000 with diffuser on daylight tone.- Only cool and warm light tones, no daylight tone. EAL30R has daylight tone on it’s brightest setting. I prefer daylight tone cause white just hurts my eyes.- Much heavier than the EAL30R and not as easy to grab due to it’s wide shape.Even though it has better battery life, higher lumens and some other nice features, the EAL30R just better suits my needs.Also worth nothing, the battery that comes with the EAL40R is removable and the battery itself has charging ports on it so you can charge the battery separate from the lantern which is cool.If the EAL40R had a daylight tone setting, it would be my winner hands down.

Great lamp.
Lasts a long time on low. Bought after a blackout. Multiple light settings, rechargeable or batteries or both and can charge your cell in a pinch. Highly recommend!

Comes with rechargeable battery and the battery itself also has USBC port on it. And I don’t know it lit up red until I read the instructions. I love this brand. My go to brand for flashlights.

Bought this for working at night inside my boat, and WOW its bright. Blinding bright.Excellent build quality, usb-c charging (unlike my other lanterns :/ which take aaaagessss to charge).Limited lifetime warranty and almost $100 cheaper + many more lumens than the LED Lenser I looked at.Buy it! You won’t be disappointed!What’s great is the fact that you can remove the diffuser if you really need HEAPS of light 💡💡👌💡💡. It can also be hung from either end, inbuilt carry handle & carabiner.Very happy with my purchase. A+. Recommended.
