Classic look, strong glass and they stack
These are great glasses. One arrived broken. We got a refund from amazon and bought another set of 6. They feel solid, fit perfectly in the dishwasher and stack in the cabinet. They have that classic restaurant look. I’m glad we have so many and they will hopefully last a long time due to the tempered glass.

Good craftsmanship at a good price
These are fantastic! What a bargain. I was a little apprehensive because of a couple of random reviews about shattering in the dishwasher or something like that so I waited until I had washed multiple times in the dishwasher. Now I’m convinced this is the best purchase ever. I had been eyeing this brand and this type of glass for a long time, but could never decide on the size to get and I could never find them on sale in any store.Amazon had the best price on a size that turned out to be just perfect for everyday use.

Versatile, stylish, sturdy, great price, available in a wide range of sizes, you’ll love them!
We’ve had Duralex Picardie glasses for years and they are great in any size but the ones we use the most are the 12oz and 8oz ones. I first saw them used in French bistros and loved their stylish look and versatility because they’re made of tempered glass and can be safely used for both hot and cold beverages. The largest sizes are great for ice tea, smoothies, or Bloody Marys, while the smallest ones are good for young kids and your morning juice or afternoon espresso. They’re sturdy and suitable for all but the most formal occasions.Yoo could buy these in upscale stores at a much higher price, but why pay extra for exactly the same product?

No breakages, elegant to hold and drink from
Love, love, love these glasses. The flared rim feels elegant, they are hefty but pretty. No breakages in many years (and I tend to thump things about). Have this size and the 6 ounce, use for everything. Mid size short 8 ounce is hard to find.

One exploded, blood in child’s legs, Mixed feeling about it
I bought two sets of these (5.75 oz and 12 oz) in July. I didn’t even know about this brand until I was at friends house when my kid dropped their glasses to the wood floor. To my horror it rolled to a stop, nothing shattered. I immediately knew this Duralex is THE glass I needed in my household! The day my 2 sets of Duralex arrived from Amazon, I accidentally demonstrated why it’s worth while to get it: while pre washing my new glasses in the sink, the 5 3/4 oz small glass slipped from my hand and landed on top of an regular glass. The old one instantly was broken with sharp edges. My new Duralex , despite dropping twice (one onto the old glass, then bounced off the bottom of the sink), was completely intact. What a perfect commercial for Duralex! I was nearly in tears thinking I found the ultimate solution for two kids (yes, yes, I can make them drink out of plastics or stainless steel cups, but at some point they need to learn how to handle the weight of a real glass, right?).Then tragedy came tonight, my child accidentally dropped a 12 oz Duralex half filled with water in the kitchen. I had no idea how it slipped from her hand, but all I heard was a LOUD EXPLOSION! My 7 year old’s legs were dripping with blood! I wish I had taken a photo tonight before rushing her to get cleaned up. There were pieces of glasses stuck in her skin! I was in no mood to take a souvenir picture when my child was in tears with blood running down her shin and ankles. When I touched her skin, tiny flakes of glasses got attached to my skin too. The good news is, as expected, the glass was mostly broken into cubes that look like ice cubes. But the bad news is, those pieces that are not “mostly cubes”, they were tiny tiny sharp pieces that flew straight into unprotected skin, with forceful impact! I don’t think it’s supposed to be that way. If manufacturer claims to be correct, it should either be unbreakable or broken into round edges. It failed both.Yes it’s a 12 oz one half filled with water, YES it’s the child’s fault for not having a tight grip on the glass, but I didn’t expect an EXPLOSION! if it’s regular glass I’d hear the sound of shattering once it hits the floor. This isn’t the first time we broke glasses in the house. I read about the “explosion” in this very same thread of Duralex reviews before I bought them last month. I thought, well, I’ve seen it first hand at my friends house that it did NOT break nor explode… I was wrong, maybe they purchased it from a better store or better batch. The ones I got are from Amazon. I honestly don’t think I’ll buy another set of Duralex, at least not from here. Maybe it’s just a bad batch, but why bother paying twice as much as a regular set, AND still get hurt? To set the record straight, we’ve always been using regular glasses and yes, even we adults shattered glasses once in a while, that’s why we kept ending up with mismatched glasses in the cabinet. but we had never been injured. If we broke the glasses, as long we don’t step on it, we don’t see blood. But this 12 oz duralex literally went into million pieces in ALL directions. My husband spent several hours tonight cleaning up the pieces. And just when we thought he thought swept and mopped up the floor, checked and double checked for residues and proclaimed it’s all clean, an hour later we found a large broken piece on TOP of the kitchen island (keep in mind the original “action” was on the floor. We also found a piece near the fireplace which would mean that the force of the explosion had traveled 12 feet and who knows where else. No wonder the tiny pieces flew straight into my child’s skin as she was standing right there when the glass was dropped. I’d like to blame myself or my child, and state that “under the right condition all glasses would break”. isn’t this what Duralex was designed for? for people to drink and wash and accidentally drop INSIDE the house not onto a field of wild flowers or golf course?Anyway, I would give it a zero star based on tonight and how my child was hurt badly. I’m giving it a 2 star only b/c I want to be fair. The 5 oz one served me well when I dropped it in the sink on Day 1 of arrival, but it was indeed a much smaller size, and the vertical drop was 12 inches, much less than the 36 inch drop today.Perhaps in the old times the quality was much better. Maybe this batch is flawed and that’s why it’s so much cheaper. Maybe it is known to be not meeting the strict standard and hence sold in America for a lower price. I have no idea, but I don’t want to use my family as guinea pigs anymore to find out if this is just a random unfortunate accident or is it gonna keep happening. I might as well just continue to use the traditional glasses. Even if they shatter eventually, how bad could it be compared to today?Last word, I should’ve given the bad (1 star 2 star) reviews more credit. If it’s 1 bad review out of 100, i had a reason not to pay much attention. But there are more than 1 bad reviews, and the word “explosion” was mentioned more than once. I was having my rosy goggles on b/c I already had my heart set on those Duralex no matter what, I selectively tuned out the real warnings. I read the wonderful reviews, and thought at least they’re the majority. Those poor 1 star folks, well, tough luck to ya.But now I AM one of those unlucky people! People won’t know for sure about the quality unless they have someone got hurt dropping the glass onto the kitchen tile. You can rationalize however you want, that I’m the unlucky bastard who had all the stars aligned above me, that it was a blue moon night, but once is enough for me. I now went back to carefully read all the low ratings about this glass in this thread, it completely described what happened today, EXPLOSION! Forceful explosion, and I’d like to add, pieces went into the skin, blood, blood everywhere, that’s all I could think of when I replay that moment. Forgive me for not taking a photo to prove what just happened, but not keeping a photo documentation doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I have no incentive to embellish my stories, people buying or not buying this product has nothing to do with me. I just want to write my experience tonight. I thought about buying another set. but With my luck, I don’t think I should risk again. As for those who praised Duralex (including myself up until yesterday). All I can say is, Duralex can be good, but their quality isn’t consistent. I don’t want to take a chance with money and blood any more.

    ずっと前から使用しています。同時期に購入した100均のグラスはほとんど割れているのにこちらは長く使えています。昔に比べて倍の価格になってしまったのだけが残念です、仕方ないですが・・・

This is my second set of these, the first set is still complete and fine after two years. I just wanted more glasses. They’re really strong and clear, nice shape to hold and no ridges inside – which is good if you’re mixing something in it like a protein drink because there’s nowhere for the powder to hide.Same size as you get from IKEA really, so a good size but less weight which is good.I also like the story that comes with them, incredibly impressive that they don’t easily break when dropped.
