Beautiful, Modern and Well Made!
The old lamp on my vanity table was having some issues, and frankly I never liked that lamp anyway. Ha! I went to several sites in search of a contemporary lamp in a size that wouldn’t overwhelm the space. I bought this Jonathan Y Alyssa 24.5″ high lamp and absolutely love how it looks! It’s open and airy, and makes it look like I have more room on my table. I didn’t know if I would like a chain pull, since I’m used to a three-way switch by the socket, but after using this lamp I wish all my lamps had a chain because it’s easier to use. The shape of the shade is modern too, and the marble base is heavy and pretty. The whole lamp is made of quality materials.I found that the provided 60W LED bulb was not enough light for my purpose, so I’m using a 100W LED bulb in it. Even though it says not to use over 60W, they mean incandescent bulbs because they get hot. LEDs put out miniscule heat, so 100W is fine to use in my opinion and according to my research. The lamp is the type with a harp that goes around the bulb, and the shade is attached at the top with a decorative screw. This means that an LED bulb above 100W will not fit. That’s the only downside I can see, plus it’s not a three-way capable lamp. Those things don’t bother me though and I’m thinking of buying the matching floor lamp as well!

Beautiful but inconsistent design
I will premise this review with the fact that I am an interior designer so I’ve seen a lot of light fixtures. These are beautiful lamps, especially given the price point. The pull chain adds an air of sophistication as you often only see pull chains at higher price points. The real marble bases are sturdy and luxurious. The only problem is the base of each lamp is inconsistent – so it’s a surprise! You don’t quite know what you’re going to get. I bought two of these lamps for a design install in a primary bedroom. One lamp base was sparkly white marble. The other base was a pretty speckled grey marble. Both were great. They just didn’t match. I ordered a third lamp, hoping that it would match one of the other two. It had a completely different marble than the other two – a white marble with light grey veining. As well, the base sizes are different. One is a larger circumference than the other two. And the finish is different on each lamp base. Two have curved, polished edges. One has a sharp edge. So definitely worth the price. But if you are looking to buy more than one and you’d prefer design consistence for them to match (like me), something to keep in mind.

I love everything about this lamp. I have painful neuropathy in hands and wanted a pull chain for on and off. Its design is simple and tasteful, including the shade. The lamp is very sturdy with its marble base, but not too heavy.

It’s great quality
I was very impressed by the packaging of this lamp, everything was well packaged with care, when I put the lamp shade on…I was in love! I really love the way it makes my family room look, it looks so much more expensive than what it is, I’m buying a second lamp!
