Runs like a champ!
I bought this fountain in April 2025 and put it in a DIY birdbath. It is now Nov. 2025. This fountain has been great!It’s location has full sun all day. I love how it comes on in the morning and goes off in the evening. On a partly cloudy to cloudy day it works intermittently based on the amount of sun it gets. As soon as it gets some light it comes on, even new out of the box. It does not have an internal battery to store energy but that’s fine with me. It turns off when flipped upside down for cleaning. To maximize performance and life clean it and the filter every other week or so. I have not needed to use the extra filter because the first filter is pretty easy to clean.For a little fountain, the water pressure is superior, shooting water as high as 15 inches or more depending on the nozzle. With some nozzles the spray can be wide enough that you need a pretty wide bowl to catch the water–like 15 to 20 wide. Comes with several different nozzles. I had to resort to using no nozzle and allow the water to gurgle up from the center of the fountain and flow over solar panels to keep the water in the bowl. Eventually I’ll get a bigger bowl.In spite of the fact that I have accidentally allowed the bowl to dry up three or four times, and the poor little fountain keeps running with no water, it still functions like a champ!

I love this great little fountain!
I love this fountain!What a great addition to anyone’s bird bath, fountain etc. The solar makes it function great in direct sunlight, but it is understandably sporadic when overcast. I have an old cement fountain that broke in a way that I can no longer use it with a traditional pump, & then I came across this gem. I have fallen in love with my fountain all over again because of this great find.All of the instructions are accurate & appropriate, like not letting it run when the water is empty, Keep the pump intake free of debris. Comes with different tips to make different shape sprays. I hope that you will enjoy this workhorse of a little fountain like I do.It does have a control to adjust the height of the spray.

This works great……however……
I gave it only 4 stars because although it works great — they give you multiple choices of the type of stream it’ll pump — the stream can be pretty high. Not to mention, the small plastic bracers that come with it, so you can brace the pump in the center, don’t really work. So, you have a high stream that the wind easily just blows out of the 12″ flat bowl, and you can’t really secure it in place. Maybe adding a well weighted piece to keep it where you want it would have been better. It also has to be in direct sunlight to work. I feel the pump with the solar charger works great, but needs some tweaks for sure to really deliver.

Stopped pumping!
Product worked well for about two weeks…then it completely stopped pumping. It is in full sun, and the water is at the correct height. What now? The picture is being taken after the sun had moved.Carla Kelley

Full sun & large bowl size needed to work effectively
Giving it 5 stars because I think it would be 5 stars given the right conditions. I didn’t read the description fully and didn’t realize that it wouldn’t work as soon as a shadow covers the solar cells…..so placing the birdbath in full sun to get it to work = hot water. Also, as someone else noted, more sun = more powerful spray….which means the water sprays out of the birdbath and you’re left with an empty birdbath (of course, depending on the size of the birdbath bowl). Will try the suggestion to take the spray nozzle off altogether. In the meantime I just double-sided taped the unit to the bottom of the bowl and got less spray (which seems like it will work if the Gorilla tape holds). I had also tried covering up a couple of the solar cells to see if that would make for a smaller spray, but the unit didn’t work when I did that). Will have to find something else to use in dappled sun.

Worked great. Better than expected.
Worked well all summer into fall. Enjoyed it a lot as did the birds and squirrels. It even worked in bright shade later in the day. Putting it up now for our freezing winters.

Pretty cool! Great in theory, but caveats await…
Item works as stated and is pretty cool, actually.But just be aware…It only works in 100% sunshine. There is no battery or power retention, so when the sun goes behind a cloud or early in the morning or in the evening, or on cloudy days, it doesn’t work. If you pass your hand above it, the stream drops precipitously. (pun absolutely intended)And…The water evaporates/spills from the basin very quickly (in my arid climate), so be sure your basin has a large volume if you want it to run all day (if it dries up, you risk burning up the pump, and you have pool floaty). I keep a couple of gallon jugs of water next to it to refill it during the day. It’s a bit of up keep.Final note: to keep it centered in your basin, it has four, little, adjustable arms that attach. The diameter of my basin (12″?) was too small to attach the arms, so my fountain moves all over, changing the spray pattern and spitting water on the surrounding flower pot. Not unpleasant, but not great either. I just have to refill the basin AT LEAST twice a day on a sunny day.If you have (stagnant) water that needs to be “stirred,” (stock tanks, kiddie pools, etc) that is in a sunny place, this could be ideal for you.It is fun to watch and sounds lovely. Just more upkeep than I was hoping for, so I only use it periodically now. Still glad I got it, though.

I liked the durability and design and also the working of this. Please keep in mind that this is a Chinese product that works purely on solar energy. If it doesn’t work somehow doesn’t mean it’s faulty it might be the case of less sunlight availability. So do check it in full sunlight for optimum performance.

庭にくるスズメのために水浴び器を設置。ソーラーで噴水が楽しめるから電気代も心配いらない。シャワーは30cm近く上がるので風が吹くと水が周りにこぼれてすぐに干上がってしまう。スズメたちは喜んでいた！アタッチメントが複数あるので湧き出す感じの口に変えたりと楽しんでいる！
