Who the heck designed the power interface on this?
I like this clock. It looks amazing on the wall. Just know, if you plan on hanging this or using this anywhere that is more than 3ft from a power supply, you’re in for a world of hurt. I’m actually knocking off a star explicitly for that reason. The cord that comes in the box is a tiny 3ft usb cable that ends in a 1.35mm angled DC power barrel. They also include a cheap 5V 1A center positive DC USB power brick. Why am I telling you all of this? Because if you buy this and you want to do anything but sit it 3 ft from a power outlet your job is now to find either: a USB-A male to female adapter cable, a new 5v DC power adapter, preferably with an angled barrel so that it sits more flush on the clock, or some Frankenstein’s monster of new USB cable to angled DC barrel adapter, etc, etc, etc.This problem could have been easily solved by simply terminating the power on the clock end in a standard USB plug (micro, mini, C, would all have been fine) instead of the barrel! OR, you know, simply including a cable that is 6ft long or more. As is this is a real pain that will mean spending at least $10-20 more on trying to get a cable that will work for this thing instead of just fishing through your drawer of various USB cables. Ask me how I know that.So, I love the clock, it looks amazing on the wall, but the power options were so badly considered that I have to just ask why. Why wasn’t this at least given the option to run on batteries? Why wasn’t there a standard USB connector on the clock? Why was the included cord so freakishly short, especially being such an odd configuration?

Bright Clock; Works Well
It’s bright, that’s the main thing I want you to know. And there’s only one brightness mode from what I saw. Also some letters go unused, but I guess that is life. Really it’s a very cool clock that performs completely as expected–which is just what I wanted.

Excellent gift idea
So I was snorkling laughing gas in the dentist’s chair as she drilled and fracked for the oil in a big molar. My dentist is a tricky one, she had this mounted on the ceiling. In my gassed state, I stared at it. And, stared some more. It was of course mesmerizing and as intended, it attracted my full attention sorting through all the possible word combinations that make it work.My anxious imagination would suggest that drilling went on for hours. But, the word clock told a different story. It didn’t budge. It wasn’t broken. Drill time turned out to be much quicker than the changing letter pattern on the clock. An impressive demonstration of the relative dimension of time. I complimented the dentist on the creative idea.I thought about it for a couple of days after the dentist and finally tried to find it. I searched a couple of terms that I thought would describe the device and hit the money on “Word Clock”.It’s a curious device. Bright enough to be legible in daylight or bright artificial light, it’s quite illuminating at night. It’s like a memory time stamp. I’m using it as a bathroom clock/night light.It’s a typical “Sharper Image” gizmo. I like it. Hope the Xmas gift recipients enjoy it. Nice value for money. It’s an item you won’t forget.

Never have enough TIME!
I first saw this “word clock” hanging on a wall and looked to see who manufactured it, when I found who made this wonderful clock, I also found I couldn’t afford it BUT I looked on Amazon and found a very good “knock off” for a VERY reasonable price and I immediately purchased one.I like this clock, it really “talks” to me! I have purchased at least three more as gifts to special people.I am looking at mine at this very minute and it says, “IT IS TEN MINUTES TO TWELVE”!I love it!It is accurate to five minutes but HEY who cares? Any minute now, will spell out, “IT IS FIVE MINUTES TO TWELVE!And I will be informed!

It’s really cool. The only thing I don’t like is it has to be plugged in ( I wanted to put it on the wall) can’t do it. Otherwise it is a conversation piece.
