Not your typical string lights
I have purchased a few govee products now. I really enjoy the app and capabilities. There are tons of options for personalizing or just using pre-made colors and options for holidays, mood, or just adding splash of color. I had the typical white ones that everyone owns that I used on my patio. After trying these on our porch I will not go back to plain white.These lights can be white, any color, they are dimmable, and super easy to install and add to the app. Ialready had govee items so connecting to the app was quick. They are a plastic instead of glass so I think they will last longer on my porch or in a more harsh location. The bulbs are definitely waterproof, only time will tell on cords but so far so good.I bought them for Halloween and will most likely just leave permanently after playing around with the colors. The halloween choices were varied and you could pick a solid color or varied colors in a sequence. Depending on the govee product you can alter the speed and brightness of any color settings you choose as well. I can also sync these with other govee products in my house to have a cohesive theme if I so choose. If you’re looking for something that is not typical these are a good choice. The can be pricey but they do offer discounts through the year. I’m hoping my next purchase will be the new permanent outdoor prism lights to add to these outdoor lights and really bring up the wow factor on my house.

Great product, great app, Matter for Home integration
Last year, I bought the Govee Christmas Tree lights for an outdoor use and liked them a lot. This year, I am using these in place of the Christmas bulbs I had used to frame the house. A cool thing is that these bring a sort of fiesta feel to the house that, through color and animation, can also express mood. The images show them running a soft (soothing) animation where different colors run across the string one way and the other. For halloween, we plan to do a stranger-things motif with lights going a little crazy — there’s a ghost animation that we will lean on.You may notice that many of my lights are spaced tighter than they come. To do this, I used zip ties to sort tie each span shorter then used a poly spiral wrap product to make them look neat. It was a bit of work, but pretty necessary if you’re using them this way. You may also notice that I have lights hanging under the awning. These light my patio and can make the front of the house a bit festive for parties. I like how it all came out.The features about the Govee I especially like are 1) the app. It has an amazing array of animations to allow me to express a lot of moods. The app also has timers and such that make it easy to have the lights turn on/off and it has a ton of features I haven’t figured out. 2) Matter. It really does matter for me. I have decided that I want to use Apple Home to at least handle basic controls for all my smart automation. The apps are cool for special things like this but I hate having a different app just to turn things on and off. Home gives me those basic features and good apps, like Govee offers, let me do fancy things. Matter matters.

Bright, durable, and fully Govee-integrated outdoor string lights
This review is for the Govee S14 String Lights 2, priced at $170 for 144 feet. Each box includes three strands, one controller, and one power adapter. I needed four strands for my roofline, so I bought two boxes and now have two extra strands that I plan to use once I buy another controller and adapter. I am giving these a 5 out of 5 because they offer excellent value, strong performance, and seamless integration with the Govee ecosystem.Installing them was easy. Each bulb has a permanently attached loop on the back, and I used alligator-style clips to secure them along my roofline. The loops make the hanging process simple and sturdy, which is important for long-term outdoor use.Since I already use Govee products, these lights connected to the Govee app immediately. If you are new to Govee, setup is still straightforward. Download the app, enable Bluetooth, connect the device, enter your Wi-Fi information, and everything syncs quickly.One major benefit is that the color hues match the rest of my Govee lighting. Staying within the Govee ecosystem makes it easy to keep all lighting consistent across your home. These lights run patterns, timers, scenes, and dynamic effects without any hassle.The brightness and vibrancy are excellent. In the video I attached to my review, I used a tropical Christmas color scene along my roofline using the Marquee option, and the colors are vivid even from a distance. A single 144-foot box covers a surprising amount of space.These are now my permanent year-round roofline lights. The overall construction feels durable enough for long-term outdoor exposure, and I prefer this classic bulb style over the more permanent soffit-mounted options. Works great and simple to use
This is the fourth Govee product I have purchased. 3 strings of lights and a set of two light bulbs. This is one of the best app downloads on my I phone and I have never had a glitch or problem with it. All lights bulbs and strings work on a different button in the app so all the lights can be doing different thing or different times or all the same if you want. These are all outdoor lights and we change the color or theme every month from the couch. I will buy these again.

Spend the extra $ and get Govee
I wanted some cool Christmas lights and almost bought some cheap ones that don’t have preset color shows. So glad I spent a few extra bucks and got a Govee. This string of lights is awesome! Works great with my old iPhone 12 (don’t need latest and greatest) and BT,WiFi setup took less than 5 minutes. I will stick with Govee for future lights as the quality of the product is really good; Both software and hardware.
